    Negotiation 0.1 谈判

    As one of the parties in a recent negotiation, I summary a few points that may help one to gain a favorable position.
     
    Options are your friends. [选择权是你的朋友] 
     
    Make sure your opponent knows that you have other options besides dealing with them. If you do not have any other options, chances are you'll make an unfair/intimidating deal. Sometimes, you do not have to clearly specify what options you have, and all you need to do is to give them a hint.
     
    Oh... it's the market. [市场规律制胜个人主观]
     
    "I am a good guy and I'd love to satisify all your requests. However, it's the market. I can not pay you the amount because the market value is not worthy that much. " Research the market, common practices, similar deals, and show the other party that you are market savvy and no one can deceive you.
     
    A firm heart with a sunny smile. [微笑和谐的谈判] 
     
    Most of time, you need to deal or even partner with the other party after the negotiation. Negotiation is the path to find a solution that satisfies both parties and it should never be confrontational.
     
    Different people may have different views on negotiation. I believe two things play more important roles than negotiation skills: knowledge of the context and pleasant and practical personality.
